To support the delivery of this programme Charnwood Borough Council is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated Physical Activity and Sports Development Officer on a 12 month, fixed-term contract.

The Physical Activity and Sports Development Officer will have an important role in supporting Charnwood Borough Council's Sport & Active Recreation team 'Active Charnwood' and sport sector providing support for the delivery of Charnwood's Sport & Physical Activity Commissioning Plan to reduce physical inactivity enabling Charnwood residents to access sport and physical activity opportunities locally.

Duties will include:

• Support with the design, development and delivery of sport/physical activity and health programmes that address local needs.

The post holder will work in partnership with a variety of organisations including voluntary and statutory bodies to ensure there is a diverse range of programmes and activities in place which will increase participation and meet the needs of target groups/communities.

You will need to have experience of one or more of the following areas: community development, digital marketing, social media, marketing and communication or experience of working in the sports, physical activity, or health sector.

Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and a good working knowledge of effectively using social media and marketing to communicate to a range of communities and individuals is essential.
