Our client is a dynamic and growing freight forwarding company offering tailored global shipping solutions across air, sea, and road transport. Committed to efficiency and customer satisfaction, they support businesses of all sizes in streamlining their export and logistics operations. As the company expands, they are seeking a motivated Sales Representative to help drive lead generation and business development which will in turn support Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, and additional distribution hubs in the surrounding areas.
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Sales Representative to join the remote sales team. This part-time, home-based role will focus on identifying and qualifying new business opportunities across the North West region, supporting Sales Managers by booking qualified appointments.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in sales, preferably within the freight forwarding or wider logistics industry, and should be comfortable with the terminology commonly used in shipping and export operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Make daily outbound calls to UK exporters, introducing freight forwarding services.
• Utilise regional knowledge and ability to make introductions and build rapport with clients – assisting to create inroads with key contacts at local businesses.
• Accurately log all interactions and lead activity in Cargowise CRM.
• Qualify prospects and pass quality leads to Sales Managers for follow-up.
• Achieve weekly KPIs; including call volumes, leads generated, appointments booked, and conversion rates.
• Participate in daily team huddles and weekly pipeline reviews.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Incoterms, shipping practices, and freight forwarding industry trends.
Requirements
• Proven experience in sales, inside sales, or lead generation (preferably within logistics or freight forwarding).
• Solid understanding of logistics or freight industry terminology is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Incoterms and international shipping procedures preferred.
• Experience with CRM systems; Cargowise experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong communication skills with a confident and professional phone manner.
• Self-motivated, well-organised, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
Compensation & Benefits
• Competitive base salary: £18,000 - £24,000 per annum (pro rata salary based on £30,000 full time p/a) + Commission structure (to be discussed at interview stage).
• Company-provided equipment.
• Ongoing training and mentoring provided.
• Inclusive, target-driven team culture with support and progression opportunities.
