Pay Rate: £370.00 per day PAYE

Location: Surrey

37 hours per week

Contract Length: 4 months

(A DBS is a requirement of this role)


Our Client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Fostering Project Manager to join their Children’s Social Care (CSC) Transformation and Savings Team, supporting the transformation of services for children, families, and care leavers across the County.
You will take the lead on critical capital programmes, including the Children’s Homes Capital Programme and Group Homes for Care Leavers. These are high-impact, complex projects requiring someone who can ‘hit the ground running’, ensuring that systems, governance, plans, and risk management frameworks are in place from day one.
Key Responsibilities:



Lead the end-to-end delivery of transformation and capital projects aligned with the Council’s strategic goals.


Establish robust governance, manage risks, and monitor project performance to ensure successful outcomes.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally.


Maintain project documentation including high-level plans, risk logs, and programme board updates.


Contribute to continuous improvement and drive innovation in service delivery.




Essential Requirements:


Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion in a change/transformation context.


Strong working knowledge of project and change management principles.


Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and adapt quickly.


Demonstrated experience working with senior stakeholders, with confident communication and influencing skills.


A recognised project management qualification (e.g. Prince2, APM, MSP) or equivalent experience.


Willingness and ability to travel across Surrey.




Desirable:


Experience within public sector or local government transformation programmes.


Familiarity with children’s social care or capital delivery in a safeguarding environment.


A passion for delivering services that improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
