The role: We’re seeking an experienced HR Consultant to provide high-quality HR advice and support across the Council. You’ll manage a caseload of complex employee relations cases, support policy interpretation, and contribute to HR improvement projects. This is a hands-on advisory role where you’ll be working closely with managers, employees, and trade unions.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise on HR issues, employment law, and policy application
Manage employee relations and attendance cases
Support investigations, hearings, and formal procedures
Analyse HR data and produce management information
Contribute to HR policy development and intranet content
Deliver training and development sessions to managers
What the client is looking for:
Proven experience in a technical HR role within a customer-focused environment
Active DBS Clearance
Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR policy application
Skilled in data analysis and report writing
Confident handling complex, sensitive HR casework
Effective communicator, capable of liaising with various stakeholders
Desirable:
CIPD qualification or working towards
Experience in commercial development or HR projects
