What skills and experience we're looking for

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:

• Demonstrate previous experience and ‘DIY skills’ to identify, monitor and carry out minor repairs, maintenance and redecoration.
• Demonstrate knowledge of moving and handling procedures and be physically able to carry out the physical tasks of the role (e.g. lifting, shifting, clearing snow etc).
• Demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions.
• Awareness of COSHH regulations, applying knowledge gained as appropriate. [Further training will be given]
• Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils, contractors and outside users of the school (hirers).
• Will be reliable, punctual, hardworking, patient, flexible and have a genuine desire to work as part of a team.

Further details about the role

Your role will include:

• Ensuring the security, safety, and cleanliness of our buildings and grounds
• Carrying out basic repairs, maintenance, and decoration
• Supporting health and safety procedures, including regular checks and record keeping
• Assisting with cleaning and porterage duties
• Providing access and supervision during lettings and school events
• Supervising cleaning staff and contractors as required
