Are you passionate about safety and ready to make a difference in one of the most vital areas of healthcare? We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive Fire Safety Officer to join our acute Trust and help ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike.

About the Role

Reporting to the Trust Fire Safety Manager, you will play a key role in driving fire safety standards across the organisation. Your work will support directly provided services and commissioned care through robust risk assessments, inspections, awareness campaigns, and training programmes—all aligned with national legislation and Trust policy.
• Collaborate with the Trust Fire Safety Manager to embed a culture of fire safety across all departments and services.
• Deliver risk assessments and inspections that reduce potential harm to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of a Trust-wide Fire Safety Strategy encompassing legal, ethical, and moral obligations.
• Champion and promote compliance with guidance from both the Fire and Safety Executive and the Trust.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams, external NHS colleagues, and statutory bodies to promote a cohesive response to fire safety.
• A confident communicator with a solid understanding of NHS fire safety legislation and best practice. You excel in collaborative environments, translating complex fire risks into clear actions. Experience in healthcare settings is an advantage.
