Summary

Role overview:

My client is a Leading Groundworks and Civil Engineering Contractor which specialises in projects across the South Coast of England.

Their specialist works comprise;

  • Specialist earthworks

  • Hard and Soft Landscaping
  • Concrete Basements
  • RC Frames and Structures
  • CFA & Sheet Piling
  • And much more

Due to planned growth and a healthy pipeline of future works they are looking to appoint a Project Manager either on a contract or permanent basis.

Initially, the successful individual will be working on a £3.5m Waste Transfer Project in the Blandford Area of Dorset.

This project comprises Groundworks, RC Slabs, concrete bays, and the construction of a 9m retaining wall and associated civils works.

Duties:

  • Report to his Contracts Manager who attends site weekly.
  • Inductions of operatives and ensuring contract has correctly trained personnel to carry out the works.
  • Compile and manage Risk Assessments/Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Ensure temporary works designs are compiled, approved and adhered to.
  • Co-ordinating site managers, engineers and reinforcing subcontractors.
  • Ordering of plant, formwork, drainage materials, reinforcing, concrete orders and general materials.
  • Capture all cube results, exported materials, concrete deliveries and materials onto spreadsheets.
  • Daily/weekly safety inspection sign offs and check lists.
  • Ensuring QA inspections are completed and signed off by the client.
  • Ensure information flow of drawings is current and raise RFI's for confliction/missing information.
  • Monitor timekeeping of operatives on site.
  • Work with QS to ensure claims and dayworks are up to date and all works captured.
  • Monitor and update program using ASTA in line with the Information release Schedule.
  • Present weekly project progress reports to both client and Oliver Connell management.
