Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential?

Our Elective Home Education (EHE) Team, specialises in working with parents who chose to electively home educate their children and provides the following services:

  • Support to parents in providing suitable education for their children
  • A statutory function of the local authority in identifying children without a suitable education
  • Information, advice and guidance to other agencies on EHE

You'll be working with families in the Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands districts and you will hold responsibility for a number of children.

This post is fixed term until the end of August 2026.

Main Responsibilities

You'll be:

  • ensuring parents are providing a suitable education for their children, and offering support information, advice and guidance were appropriate.
  • developing, facilitating and organising family and professionals’ meetings, events and groups to ensure home education is delivered in line with statutory services and is both efficient and effective.
The Ideal Candidate

You'll have

  • NVQ 3 in respect of working with children and their families or equivalent
  • experience of enabling parents and children to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available
  • Experience of working with parents and children in an education setting
