Job Purpose:

This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Company Accountant who understand and communicate complex technical information, serve as a liaison between clients and technical teams, and provide strategic solutions that meet client needs.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities)
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP/IFRS.
Maintain accurate financial records including ledgers, journals, and supporting documentation.
Oversee payroll, VAT returns, and corporation tax compliance in coordination with HMRC requirements.
Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure timely completion.
Budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
Monitor cash flow, banking, and investment activities.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Advise on financial implications of business activities and contribute to decision-making.
Ensure compliance with Companies House and other statutory filing requirements.
Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is a plus.
Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting (e.g., pivot tables, macros).
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for financial reporting.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and ERP systems.
Good skills with financial analysis for EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization)
ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (or equivalent recognized UK qualification).
Proven experience in a similar accounting role (minimum 3 years preferred).
Strong knowledge of UK tax law, financial reporting, and statutory obligations.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Experience in working with SMEs or within the [industry] sector.
Familiarity with financial planning software and ERP systems.
Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS).
