HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. Your role

The family justice system exists to help families resolve disputes arising in respect of family matters quickly and with the minimum of disruption to those involved. The disputes that come before Family courts often involve very difficult circumstances and can touch on almost every aspect of family life.

As a Family Admin Officer, you will be responsible for management of digital files in preparation for family hearings, often involving sensitive and challenging cases, assisting the judiciary in their remote hearings, including the drafting of their orders made in court. You will handle queries from court users via post, email, telephone and face to face with empathy and understanding and undertake a variety of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of family hearings.

You will be assigned to teams to carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system or provide support to other functions within HMCTS.
Your skills and experience
· Friendly and approachable manner with excellent customer service skills.
· Ability to multitask, whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· IT proficient with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
· Excellent organisational skills.

Further details:

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy.

Occasional travel between the Mid and West Wales sites will be required.
Due to business needs the minimum part time hours we can offer will be 30 per week, Mon-Friday.
