Are you a detail-oriented and proactive HR professional ready to take the next step in your career? We're working on behalf of a respected education provider to recruit a permanent HR Administrator to support their busy HR function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a people-focused organisation where your contribution will support staff across the full employee lifecycle.

Location: Peterborough
Hours: 37 hours per week, full-time, all year round (flexible working considered)
Contract Type: Permanent
Reports to: Group Head of People Services Delivery
Salary: £24,000

About The Role

In this varied and fast-paced role, you'll provide operational HR support and first-line HR administration across the full range of employment processes-from recruitment and onboarding to probation, compliance, and employee data management. You'll work closely with HR colleagues and line managers to ensure smooth and compliant processes that meet both legal and regulatory standards.

The HR Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Administering new starters, leavers, contract changes and employee records
  • Coordinating recruitment and onboarding activities, including safer recruitment checks
  • Supporting with pre-employment compliance (DBS, Right to Work, references, etc.)
  • Maintaining accurate employee data and the Single Central Record
  • Assisting with the delivery of HR projects, initiatives and reporting
  • Providing data and admin support during audits and inspections

What You'll Need

The HR Administrator will require:

  • Previous experience in a busy HR admin or HR apprentice role
  • Excellent communication, IT and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
  • Ability to manage confidential information in line with GDPR
  • Knowledge of key HR processes and statutory employment requirements
  • GCSEs in English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) or equivalent experience

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience within the education or further education sector
  • Understanding of KCSIE, safeguarding, and Single Central Record requirements
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and calculations (holiday pay, sick pay, etc.)
