What is great about this opportunity?
Our team in Cardiff provide temporary supported accommodation for males who require a safe space due to being a victim domestic abuse/violence. As one of the few refuges in Wales we provide crucial support to those that require it. We currently have 5 residents at Cedar House, 2 dispersed flats in the Cardiff are for males with children. Our focus is to support individuals in feeling safe, accessing services such as Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Police and Legal services and providing them support to access independent accommodation. You will play an essential part of our team where you’d be required to work in the project and in the community.
Your day as a Scheme Support Officer will consist of:
Work with people to truly make a difference in their life
Use your skills and talents to engage with people
Support people to achieve their potential
Develop your networking skills by working in partnership with external agencies
Encourage community engagement
Our focus as a service is to support our customers in leading successful and independent lives and to feel safe in their homes and communities. You will motivate and encourage clients to participate in the community and to promote the achievement of life skills and social skills. You will work flexibly as part of a team to develop, implement and review support plans and risk management plans based on individual needs, preferences and aspirations.
You will work closely with partner agencies, including local authorities, social and private landlords, to investigate sustainable, affordable housing options and provide support to ensure that appropriate homelessness duties are recognised under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014

Contract type: Full-time (37hrs)
Salary: £24,531.00
Qualified IDVA (Independent domestic violence advisor) preferred or willing to take on the qualification
For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.
Work Pattern: You will work Monday to Friday with an optional on call commitment
The successful candidate will need a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays
