Crynodeb
The purpose of this role is to facilitate safe and timely assessments and ongoing support to C&YP who present in a mental health crisis. The post holder will help to develop and deliver robust educational interventionsfor the Paediatric nursing team, that promotes best practice in the management of C&YP experiencing, or at risk of self-harm (with the MFT Paediatric PDN). They will support staff within the units to appropriately risk assess, support care provision and attend MDT meetings to support the pathway of C&YP with mental health conditions within the Medway Foundation NHS Trust. Working alongside the Children and Young Persons Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) Crisis Team and All Age Eating Disorder Services (AAEDS) to assist staff to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing provision for C&YP who have an identified mental health need Support staff to develop and implement specialist nursing protocols, developing care packages and programs of care for C&YP who self-harm or have an eating disorder, including the involvement of multi-agency input around the C&YP and their familys needs
