Early Years/Primary Phase Lead - Virtual School
About the role
The Phase Lead of the Virtual School in Hull has a key management and leadership role in ensuring our young people make good progress in learning and achieve positive outcomes. Hull has over 650 children looked after, including more than 150 in the post 16 cohort. The team track and monitor the progress and attainment of all these children continually supporting social workers, schools, and other education settings. It is therefore essential that there is strong communication and team working within the Virtual School to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
The Virtual School is a vibrant and well-resourced team which includes a Head teacher, a deputy head, 2 phase leaders as well as a Business Manager with administration support. The Virtual School also provides advice and information for all Children with a Social Worker as well as those previously looked after and those in Kinship Care arrangements. There are excellent working relationships with the Social Care teams as well as with other key services supporting our children and young people.
The ideal candidate will be:

A qualified teacher with leadership experience, and a proven track record of excellent teaching and learning outcomes.
Knowledgeable and understanding of the EYFS/ Primary curriculum
Able to manage and deliver quality support and information to improve practice.
A solution focussed practitioner who can lead by example.
Able to lead and manage a highly motivated and dedicated phase team.
Knowledgeable and experienced in delivering teaching and learning to achieve positive educational outcomes.
Confident in delivering training to teachers, social workers and other key stakeholders.
Knowledgeable and understanding of attachment, trauma and SEND
Adept at written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.

In addition, you will need:

A relentless approach to getting the systems right.
A passion to improve the lives of children through achieving positive outcomes.
An ability to suggest and implement creative solutions.
Experience of working collaboratively with partners to support the delivery of great services.
