Job Summary
We are seeking passionate and committed Primary Tutors to support our growing team of educators. This role involves teaching English and Maths to students in Key Stages 1 and 2 through engaging, targeted lessons designed to build confidence, close learning gaps, and prepare students for SATs and beyond.
You will be based at a primary centre but must be flexible to support both our Ilford and Mile End branches if needed.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging English and Maths lessons to KS1 and KS2 students
Assess students’ progress and conduct formal assessments during Assessment Week every 4th week
Tailor learning activities to suit individual student needs and abilities
Provide cover work in case of absence
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and personal development
Communicate progress with parents, carers, and internal teams where appropriate
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and learning goals
Support students with a range of learning needs, including SEN
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or currently studying for one) in Education or a related subject
Minimum GCSE Grade C / 5 in English Language and Maths
Valid DBS certificate required
A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is desirable
Must be flexible Monday–Sunday
Previous experience working with children in a school or tuition setting is essential (minimum one year experience)
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to deliver lessons in a supportive and structured way
