We’re looking for a proactive Commercial Analyst to join our Finance team, supporting our branches across a wide range of Goods Not for Resale (GNFR) areas, including payroll, delivery, and property costs.
This is a key role with real impact—working closely with the Finance Manager, you\\'ll help minimise risk, control costs, and drive cash profit, playing a crucial part in the ongoing development of the largest division within Booker.
The role offers flexibility with hybrid working; 3 days in our office in Eccles, Manchester and 2 days working from home.
Health, Safety & Legal Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with company policies including financial planning, health and safety, and governance controls.
Deliver accurate, timely cost reporting in line with accounting standards.
Develop tools to monitor productivity and performance across collect and delivery operations.
Work with procurement to drive best value from Goods Not for Resale (GNFR) purchases.
Track Save to Invest initiatives to auditable standards.
Support capital expenditure (CapEx) reviews and build business cases to demonstrate return.
Contribute to Finance team development and champion diversity and inclusion across the business.
Customer & Operational Impact:
Identify and address cost-related issues affecting branch operations quickly and collaboratively.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders to improve understanding of cost drivers and reporting.
Improve processes and maximise asset utilisation through proactive analysis.
Harness Tesco Group’s scale to deliver commercial benefit for Booker.
Driving Profitability:
Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, and beat budget targets.
Support Save to Invest plans to offset cost inflation.
Introduce innovative tools and techniques to enhance performance and service delivery.
Champion continuous improvement through smart transformation initiatives.
Results-driven with a focus on cost savings and long-term efficiency.
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across teams.
Continuous improvement mindset and eagerness to learn.
Commercial awareness with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
Ability to simplify complex problems and deliver practical solutions.
2+ years in a post-qualified finance or similar analytical role.
Forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning experience.
Skilled in handling large datasets and delivering actionable insights.
Proven track record in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Understanding of data privacy and IT security standards.
Consistent delivery of results.
