What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant who:

Supports individuals and small groups to access the curriculum across all subjects, including delivering targeted interventions under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCo.

Provides high-quality 1:1 support for pupils with a range of complex additional needs, including SEND, physical disabilities, and communication challenges.

Adapts teaching resources and approaches to meet individual learning styles and ensure full access to learning.

Contributes to classroom organisation, general teaching support, and the creation of an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Promotes positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development, supporting transitions and sensory needs throughout the day.

Demonstrates confident delivery of core skills in literacy and numeracy and supports the effective use of assistive technologies and learning tools.

Participates in the monitoring and assessment of pupil progress, providing relevant feedback to teaching staff.

Undertakes playground, lunchtime, and general supervision duties, and administers first aid (following appropriate training).

Maintains confidentiality and adheres strictly to safeguarding procedures, policies, and professional codes of conduct.

Is actively committed to the school’s values of resilience, teamwork, challenge, creativity, independence, responsibility, and kindness.

Is positive, empathetic, and motivated, with a commitment to removing barriers so all pupils can thrive.

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills and works effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Has knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEND and/or EAL, and experience working with external professionals and implementing specialist recommendations.

Holds a minimum of GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with relevant experience in an educational setting (a qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable).

Shows commitment to continued professional development and is willing to undertake training (including First Aid, safeguarding, and SEND-related CPD).
