Tiverton High School serves the beautiful and historic market town of Tiverton in mid Devon and is within easy commuting distance to the regional centers of Exeter and Taunton. We can be found just off junction 27 of the M5. We are within easy reach of areas of outstanding national beauty such as the Blackdown Hills, Dartmoor, Exmoor and close to the lovely Devon coastline.We are hugely proud of the achievement of our students and Tiverton High School is truly at the heart of our community. We believe education should empower young people, giving them the knowledge to make sense of the world and grow into citizens who make a difference.We are now recruiting for a Family Support Worker and Safeguarding Officer to join our team. The hours are 37 hours per week, term time plus non-pupil days.This post holder will work as a part of the safeguarding and pastoral teams focusing on intensive work with individual students and their families. The pastoral team at THS is focused on meeting the needs of the whole child.The successful candidate will play a significant role in ensuring that students are safeguarded as a deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead as well as promoting student welfare by providing support to meet their wider health and social and emotional needs including working closely with their parents and carers.You will manage a caseload of families who have been identified as requiring additional support and regular monitoring through Early Help and safeguarding meetings and provide outreach to families of students who are hard to reach.By following and developing good practice you will ensure students and families achieve the planned outcomes and provide support for parents and carers by signposting and / or delivering as appropriate and necessary.
