An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist to join the Paediatric Therapy Team and lead the provision of physiotherapy care to the Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis caseload at Leicester Children’s Hospital and it’s satellite centres. You will work alongside the Cystic Fibrosis MDT with a rotational band 6 CF physiotherapist working in clinics, home and school visits as well as in-reaching to provide physiotherapy for admitted CF patients within UHL. The role will provide regular opportunities to work in the wider Children’s Hospital.

You will be working alongside other paediatric respiratory clinical specialist physiotherapists in PCD, Respiratory Outpatients and Difficult Asthma, forming the Respiratory Outpatient Group within the Children’s Therapy Team , which will support each other and work together to ensure provision of high quality care and staff development.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, highly experienced and competent Cystic Fibrosis Paediatric Physiotherapist with a commitment to patient focused care, maintaining their CPD/ specialist skills and who can work flexibly which may include evenings and weekends as necessary.

You will continue to develop and evaluate your role to ensure patients are provided with high quality and appropriate evidence-based care. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

To be responsible for the provision of paediatric physiotherapy to the Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis caseload as well as contribute to the provision of physiotherapy for the other Respiratory Outpatient Group services.

To be responsible for the assessment and treatment of a complex, paediatric caseload of children (0-15yrs, or 18yrs with special needs) using enhanced clinical decision-making skills.

Experience in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of children’s cystic fibrosis disorders is essential.

The respiratory specialties operate from UHL sites as well as from other locations across the LLR system, e.g. Kettering, and travel will be required between these sites to support physiotherapy provision to these teams.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
