An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Contextual Safeguarding Service, in the Missing and Prevention team. The position is full time (37 hours per week) Monday - Friday, and will include regular travel across the borough of Cheshire East.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your primary role will be to undertake Return Home Interviews for all children who go missing from home or care. You will gather pivotal information to inform plans around the child, adhering to strict timescales. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of one-to-one work with children and young people, managing risk and safety planning based on assessment of their needs.

Working as part of a small team within the Contextual Safeguarding Service, you will work closely with colleagues from the ACT and ACE teams to prevent children from coming to harm from outside the family home.

You will be required to liaise and communicate effectively with other agencies such as the police, children's social care and schools, along with parents and carers in order to create a meaningful impact in children's lives.

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

An understanding of the needs of children who go missing from home or care, and the harm they can come to outside the home.
Experience of building strong relationships with a range of children, young people and professionals.
An ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines, responding to immediate concerns.
A strength-based approach to working with children at risk of harm outside the home, showing resilience in your day to day work.
A full driving license and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East's rural nature
