Young Person's Support Worker – Make a Real Difference Every Day!

Location: Colchester, Essex | Salary: £14.00 p/h - £50 per sleep-in | Hours: 42.5 p/w – 4 days on, 4 days off- Work half the year for a full salary!

First Steps Residential's Devon House– a thriving children’s home in Colchester, Essex – is looking for Children's and Young Person's Support Workers who are committed to changing lives. Children's Residential Support Worker - What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting children and young people through their daily routines
Helping build independence through everyday life skills
Encouraging creativity, learning, and emotional growth
Keeping our home safe, nurturing, and fun
Working closely with a dedicated team and external professionals
Recording progress, celebrating wins, and making every moment count
Shift Pattern:

4 Days On / 4 Days Off
12.5hr shifts (7:30am – 8:00pm with a paid lunch break)
Sleep-ins (10pm–7:30am) paid at £50 per night
Children's Residential Support Worker - Who We’re Looking For:

✅ NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) - essential (or working towards)
✅ 2+ years' experience in residential childcare
✅ Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma, and child development
✅ UK Driving Licence – essential
✅ Resilient, reliable, and emotionally intelligent
