Experienced Plant Service Engineer - Mobile Plant Machinery-Hybrid role
About us
Our client are UK representatives for several leading manufacturers of mobile and static recycling equipment. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for experienced plant engineers to join the team in the new year.
Based at their Northern Office in Darwen you will be working on mobile equipment for the Recycling industry throughout the UK and Ireland.
This will include shredders, balers, trommels, star screens & turners.
Work will involve servicing equipment, diagnosing faults in the field, workshop-based repairs and maintenance to existing machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Attending breakdowns across the UK & Ireland
- Servicing Machines on site and in the workshop
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on equipment
- Provide technical support to customers
- Work in collaboration with the Service Manager to identify opportunities for upgrades, new purchases, and additional customer training.
- Accurately identify error codes, recurring problems, and unique troubleshooting solutions.
- Communicate issues effectively through detailed emails and photos.
- Instruct customers on the operation and maintenance of systems.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and in-house teams on administrative and technical matters.
- Document and submit reports on all service activities
- Promote service contract revenue and new product awareness
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in all aspects of mobile machinery
- A proven track record as a service engineer or technical support engineer
- Skilled in fault-finding and delivering first-time fix solutions
- Strong customer-facing abilities, along with a positive approach and the capacity to work autonomously
- Excellent at building and sustaining customer relationships
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability are essential for this role
- Must possess a UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points
- CSCS / CCNSG and IPAF are beneficial but training will be provided for the right candidate
