Keep the Lights On and London Running

We're on the lookout for a qualified and proactive Electrician to join our team at Equans, working across several schools in the Barking area. You'll be the go-to expert for all things electrical - keeping buildings safe, powered, and running smoothly for students and staff alike.

This is a hands-on role in a friendly, supportive environment where your skills and ideas are truly valued.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across school sites.

  • Handling small installations, refurbishments, and repairs.

  • Making sure all work meets legal and safety standards.

  • Taking part in an on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours work (with support, of course).

  • Troubleshooting faults and either fixing them yourself or coordinating with trusted contractors.

  • Keeping documentation accurate and up to date (yes, we love paperwork - but only the useful kind).

About You

You're a qualified electrician with strong knowledge of electrical systems (lighting, power, fire alarms, etc.), and you're confident working independently or as part of a team. You've got an eye for safety, a knack for problem-solving, and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

What You'll Need
  • City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent electrical qualification.

  • Solid understanding of current electrical regs and safety standards.

  • Experience in building maintenance (especially in busy environments like schools).

  • Good communication and time-management skills.

  • A positive attitude and a flexible approach to work.

What We Offer
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Ongoing training and clear paths for professional development.

  • A role with real variety - no two days are quite the same.

  • A team that supports you and values what you bring to the table.
