Religious Worker – Choir Lead
Christ Light Assemblies UK (CLASSUK) is a multinational pentecostal church based in Erith,
Greater London. We are looking to recruit a Christian religious worker to fill the role of Religious
Worker – Keyboardist.
Job Role: Religious Worker – Choir Lead
Reporting To: The Music Director
Location: Erith, Greater London, UK
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
The CLASS UK Choirs provide regular songs/music supports, fun and fulfilment to support the church and the local community members especially during festive periods in the Greater London.
The Choir Leader will lead choir rehearsals, providing musical training and guidance to
people of all ability levels. The choir leader’s role is to run fun, fulfilling,
and supportive one hour choir sessions for the CLASS UK choristers using the CLASS UK musical resources provided. Also, opportunities to conduct the choristers in a
performance environment and occasional facilitation of corporate sessions.
Main duties and responsibilities
Operational
• Run CLASS UK Voices sessions ensuring that the choir learns the chosen repertoire at a
suitable pace and works together as a cohesive group.
• Ensure that each choir maintains the ethos of the CLASS UK, by creating and
maintaining an enjoyable and supportive environment during choir rehearsals.
• Communicate any relevant issues regarding the running of the choir back to the
Co-ordinator as soon as possible after each session.
• Working with the Co-ordinator, proactively seek potential performance opportunities
for the choir.
• Create a friendly, supportive relationship with the choristers and remain alert to potential
needs or distress amongst members.
• Empower the choristers to organise social community-related events for themselves to encourage inclusivity and foster friendships.
• Work with the Co-ordinator to take a proactive approach to make sure that choir is
inclusive for everyone.
• Attend relevant training sessions for the choir lead role.
Qualifications
The candidate must be a Christian with Pentecostal background and
Must be proficient in playing the keyboard/piano musical instrument relevant to the African and
Pentecostal Christian style of music.
Ability to work on initiative, self-manage as well as work within a team.
High energy and a positive attitude.
Strong motivation and empathy towards the aims and objectives of CLASS UK
Good communicational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate in a Nigerian Language is desirable.
Duration of employment: 1-2 year fixed term contract. Full time (30h/w) over 5 days which
includes evenings and weekends.
Starting Salary: £18500
