Assistant Accountant

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday - Hybrid working
What you'll be doing:
As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll be involved in a varied range of finance tasks, including:
Preparing accounts up to trial balance with relevant adjustments
Compiling management reports and performing balance sheet reviews
Completing and submitting VAT returns accurately and on time
Supporting financial planning through cash flow and budget preparation
Processing supplier invoices, reconciling statements, and assisting with payments
Following up with customers to manage outstanding invoices and ensure timely payments
Posting bank transactions and handling reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
Communicating with clients to obtain necessary information and resolve queries efficiently
What we're looking for:
We’re keen to hear from candidates who:
Have at least 2 years of experience in an accounting role
Are working towards (or have completed) an AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualification
Have solid bookkeeping knowledge, particularly double-entry
Are comfortable using accounting software (experience with Sage, QuickBooks, Xero is a plus)
Possess strong organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail
Communicate clearly and professionally
