Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

The School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science - Department of Engineering is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Robotics Engineering to support our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in two or more of the following specific areas: Deep Learning for Robotics, Soft Robotics, Principles of Control Systems, Robotic Product Design, Robot Planning and Manipulation.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will undertake teaching and assessment in engineering and technology modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also support learning through design and development of course materials, including online content, and undertake lectures, tutorials, laboratory and administrative activities.
You will be expected to contribute actively to the research interests of the school and develop short courses and commercial activities in the school. You will supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and be willing to apply for external funding to support research and commercial activities.
Skill and experience required
You must have experience of working in the robotics engineering and AI subject area within Higher Education. In addition to this, you will need proven experience of teaching or tutoring at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. You must have a strong commitment to teaching, learning and student support at University level and a potential willingness to attract external funding in research. You will have demonstrable proficiency in English Language, with excellent oral and written communication skills. You must have a strong desire to enthuse and engage our students and be effective within a team setting. We will also expect from you a willingness to develop module and programme level material whilst also demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and to undertake professional qualifications where appropriate.
Qualifications required
You must hold a minimum of a degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering, Computer Science, or a related subject area. A relevant postgraduate qualification in a related subject field is desirable.
