We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant in Anaesthetics/Intensive Care with a specialist interest in Obstetrics to join our team. The successful candidate will join a team of friendly and dynamic Anaesthetic and Intensive Care Consultants. We are dedicated to developing the department, team and working towards the wider organisational goals and culture.
The example job plan is based around sessions in Anaesthesia and participation in the out of hours service.
This is an exciting time to be joining the trust, as plans to reconfigure are under way.
Please see job description and person specification for full details
To provide a high standard of care to any patient for whom you have clinical responsibility.
The successful applicant will take part in the general on call rota, either at Calderdale or Huddersfield depending on service requirements and prior discussion with the Clinical Directors.
Surgical specialties provided by the Trust include ENT, Trauma & Orthopaedics, General, Ophthalmic, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Upper GI (including Bariatrics), Urological (including laparoscopic resections), Colorectal, Robotic and Plastic surgery. Some paediatric work is undertaken within these specialties.
We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.
We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community.
Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.
This is a Full-Time post providing 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), including SPA 1.5 PA, but applicants wishing to work part-time are also encouraged to apply and job plans will be adjusted accordingly, and by negotiation with appointees.
Applicants must be registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practice.
Pre-interview meetings or visits are highly encouraged.
