About the Role

Our Gas Storage business is responsible for the operation and management of SSE's Gas Storage facilities, their maintenance and ensuring the plant is available for use by SSE and third parties.

You will

- Manage the 24/7 operation of a Gas Storage facility and all associated equipment to facilitate the throughput of nominations from Shippers for withdrawal and injection of gas.

- Be responsible for controlling maintenance activities through managing the sites Safe Systems of Work, ensuring that no safety or environmental incidents occur.

- Oversee as necessary the various operational activities, including plant operations, isolations, commissioning and basic maintenance.

- Work alongside other teams, developing and maintaining operating instructions, procedures and provide training for on-site staff and contractors.

- Be responsible for carrying out investigations and audits on site.

You have

- HNC / NVQ level 4 in an engineering or science related discipline (or be working towards) and have previous experience of working within the oil and gas industry or similar industry. Support in acquiring a suitable qualification may be considered during the recruitment process.

- Excellent communication with great interpersonal and relationship building skills.

- Ability to problem solve and work independently are essential.

As you will be required to travel to different sites, it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.
