Main Tasks
- To assist in the setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment
- To ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times
- To ensure that any information received concerning the children is kept confidential at all times
To actively encourage children’s 2 year old progress in all areas of development, types and stages of play, by interaction and extension of play activities To carry out 2 year old child progress checks in accordance with Early Years Foundation Stage Principles. When a child is aged between two and three, practitioners must review their progress, and provide parents and/or carers with a short written summary of their child’s development in the prime areas. This progress check must identify the child’s strengths, and any areas where the child’s progress is less than expected. If there are significant emerging concerns, or an identified special educational need or disability, practitioners should develop a targeted plan to support the child’s future learning and development involving parents and/or carers and other professionals (for example, the provider’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator or health

- To be responsible for keeping the individual record file for each of the children in the key worker group
- To be involved in curriculum planning, policy writing and record keeping as requested by the supervisor
- To attend staff meetings as requested
- To attend training as requested which will benefit the 2-4 year old child development
- To keep abreast of legislation, guidelines and policies to ensure the Children’s Act and the Early Years Foundation Stage Welfare Requirements are met at all times
- To support the work and beliefs of the Nursery by helping to create an environment that promotes open and equal opportunities for children and adults
- To undertake such additional duties appropriate to the level of the post as may be required, from time to time
- Ability to spot signs and symptoms of abuse, FGM
- Ready to go on training and continuous professional development
