Post Summary:
To support the Project Coordinator in the delivery of outcomes connected to the Mission: One More project, which primarily involves identifying and working with partners and communities across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire – Integrated Care Board area to: raise awareness of and recognising the signs and symptoms of cancer; increase participation in cancer screening; and reduce the risks of developing cancer through lifestyle choices.

This project is funded by NHS England through the Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon and Gloucestershire Cancer Alliance (SWAG) to BNSSG ICB Cancer Team via the VCSE Alliance - Brokerage Framework.


Key Area 1: Mission: One More
1.1. Provide administrative/clerical support to the Project Coordinator and Steering Group, as necessary.
1.2. Support project partners in the delivery of respective activities, if needed.
1.3. Deal with telephone calls and requests for information.
1.4. Maintain an efficient filing system.

Key Area 2: General
2.1 To work in accordance with the organisation’s core values, and its policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Confidentiality.
2.2 To be responsible for own safety and not endangering that of colleagues or visitors in the workplace.
2.3 To participate in CCWS staff meetings, supervision, appraisal meetings and other internal meetings as appropriate.
2.4 To work co-operatively with other members of staff.
2.5 To undertake training as appropriate.
2.6 To positively represent and promote the work of CCWS to external organisations and agencies.
2.7 To prepare and provide information, reports etc to the Board of Trustees, funders etc as required.
2.8 To use information and technology in furtherance of efficiently and effectively carrying out the work of the organisation.
2.9 To undertake additional duties as required commensurate with the grading for this post as directed by the CEO or Board of Trustees.


Person Specification

Essential Criteria
1. The ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
2. Knowledge and experience of working with and understanding the needs of the community.
3. Knowledge and experience of working within the voluntary and/or statutory sector in a key management and or development role.
4. Experience of providing administrative support and the ability to carry this through under pressure and deadlines.
5. Understanding of inter-agency working and experience of effective liaison with statutory and voluntary sectors.
6. Ability to progress and work alongside people to ensure that work programmes and forward plans are implemented.
7. Understanding of and commitment to service user involvement in the planning, delivery and evaluation of community activities.

Desirable Criteria
1. Knowledge of community care policies and practice developments, the implications for change in the community care services, and the roles of statutory and voluntary agencies.
2. A high level of computer literacy, as well as experience of using information technology to support your own work.
3. Ability to write and present reports, and accesses written information effectively.
4. A good level of presentation skills, including experience of public speaking.
5. A clean driving licence would be an advantage.

3. To ensure confidentiality is observed over information relating to the project and service users.
