Our Very Sheltered Services are Development-based and provide enhanced support vulnerable adults who live in their own homes with varying needs. This includes physically disabled, learning disabilities and older adults and vulnerable adults who are supported to live as independently as they are able through responsive services adapted to individual housing support plans.
About the Role
This Relief Care Worker role covers various shifts as and when available. You will be working as part of a team to ensure that services are delivered flexibly and in a dignified, safe and person-centred way.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide care services to residents, while working to SSSC codes of practice and Health and Social Care Standards
• Undertake all training and eLearning relevant to the care role.
• Develop good working professional relationships with residents and families to meet their needs.
• Assist in care planning for residents to achieve positive outcomes.
• Provide and maintain manual and electronic records to required standards.
About You
Essential
• Achieve SSSC registration as a support worker in an adult social care service within first 6 months (see desirable SVQ2)
• Awareness of person-centred care
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Basic IT skills
• Good communication skills
• Good team working
• With training, be able to safeky conduct moving and handling tasks
• Be able to cover and work early and late shifts
• Some travel may be required for training and to provide essential cover
Desirable
• SVQ 2 or SVQ 3 in health and social care
• Medication units in SVQ
• REHIS elementary level
• Demonstrable experience of working with people in a care environment
• Awareness of dementia
