Crynodeb
We have two sites in Somerset being at Isle Abbotts and Yeovil. Our aim is to produce good quality domestically grown strawberries for the British consumer throughout the year.
The business imports strawberry plants, which are grown on to yield fruit. We employ workers to carry out general husbandry and harvest work, according to the grower appendix, taking care not to bruise the fruit. Quality of the fruit being picked is a priority, to ensure the fruit meets the required standards sought by supermarkets, who are our end purchasers. Therefore, the fruit has to be picked efficiently and without double handling. Other duties include clearing out of the crops, tidying and setting up blocks for new plants.
Key Responsibilities:
• To comply with all health and safety, risk assessments and company
procedures, ‘tidy as you go’ policy, as stated in the employee handbook.
• Setting up blocks/tray filling.
• Planting crops and general husbandry.
• Harvesting crops, ensuring fruit quality.
• Clearing out crops
• Clearing rubbish/tidying up.
• Ad-hoc duties as required or requested by the Managers/Supervisors/QCs.
• Achieve targets set by Team Leaders.
• Picking fruit.
• All aspects of hygiene including but not limited to sanitisation.
We would be delighted to receive CV's from Residents of the UK, for consideration to include any relevant training.
