Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for Deputy Chief LX & Video to work on the upcoming West End musical "PADDINGTON" at the Savoy Theatre.
We are seeking applications from individuals from all backgrounds, with complementary experience and skills, for the position of Deputy Chief LX & Video. Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Deputy Chief LX & Video for a first-class production as such expression is usually understood.
Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional theatre experience, the skill to support the Chief LX & Video, the ability to work under pressure and within a team, good interpersonal and communication skills, and strong organisational and time management qualities.
Lighting responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting the Chief LX and Video in ensuring the safe operation of all LX and video hired/sub hired equipment while in use. Report any issues to the Chief LX and Video If swap outs are required, organise proactively and efficiently to support the production.
Assisting the Chief LX and Video in ensuring that all LX and video checks and ensure these are complete prior to each rehearsal and/or performance as required. Troubleshoot as necessary. Develop a thorough knowledge of all equipment.
Ensuring that any backstage lighting, wing workers and quick change lighting is in place and operational.
Checking the house light operation before each performance as required.
The ideal applicant should have a good grasp of theatre video hardware, an aptitude to learn new software and workflows, and an attention to detail. Video responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Powering on, checking the system and running the show as required.
Performing routine maintenance of computers, rack equipment and LED screens as required.
