Help Us Go Smoke-Free – Join Our Wellbeing Team!

Are you passionate about health and wellbeing? We need a personable, proactive, and empathetic individual to lead our internal smoking cessation efforts and support staff on their journey to quit smoking.

Smoking is an addiction requiring treatment rather than a lifestyle choice. It is still the main cause of death and disease in island residents, placing a substantial burden on NHS and social care services. The Council was recently awarded a national grant from Public Health to accelerate the decline of smoking rates and create a smokefree generation amongst our staff.

What You’ll Do:

Promote and manage smoking cessation support for council staff
Engage with employees who smoke and guide them to the right help
Coordinate sessions, track progress, and report outcomes
Champion smoke-free messaging across council sites and digital channels
Recruit and support a network of Smoke-Free Champions
Represent smoking cessation at wellbeing events
What You’ll Need:

Strong communication and people skills
Ability to work independently and manage your time
Experience supporting others, ideally in a health or wellbeing role
Confidence using Microsoft Office and handling data
Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and willing to travel between council workplaces on a regular basis
Bonus Points:

RSPH Smoking Cessation qualification
Knowledge of lone working and health & safety
Make a real difference - help your colleagues live healthier, smoke-free lives. Apply today!
