Summary

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or graduate Archaeologist to join the Historic Environment Team as an Archaeological HER Officer. The team maintain the Historic Environment Record in line with national standards, ensuring that it contributes to the planning system at a strategic and local level, providing information to owners and others on the sustainable management of the historic environment.

As part of this team, you will support the Archaeologists and Built Heritage specialists by continuously maintaining and developing the Historic Environment Record (HER) for Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City, Moray, and Angus. You will contribute to promoting and ensuring accessibility to the HER and promote good stewardship of the historic environment, including responding to public enquiries.

This is an exciting time to join the team as they deliver their recently approved Historic Environment Team Strategy 2025-2028.

This is a full-time post and although attendance in the office is a requirement of the role, we do offer hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
