We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Housing Caretaker LBR3 to join our Facilities & Environment team. As a Housing Caretaker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the living environment for our residents. This position requires a proactive individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to ensuring that our housing facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance tasks, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner. Additionally, you will be the first point of contact for residents regarding facility-related concerns, making your role vital in fostering a positive community atmosphere. Your contributions will not only enhance the functionality of our facilities but will also play a significant role in resident satisfaction. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of housing facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry as needed.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests submitted by residents, addressing concerns in a professional manner.
Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance tasks and outstanding issues to ensure effective follow-up.
Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance that exceed internal capabilities.
Assist in the management of waste disposal and recycling efforts within the housing facilities to promote environmental sustainability.
Support community engagement activities by providing assistance in organizing events and resident meetings as required.
Requirements
Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work is essential.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents and team members.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Physical fitness to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as required.
A valid driver's license may be required for travel between housing sites.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £15.19
Location: Little Ilford, East London
