You will undertake a fully funded, accredited college course
to bolster your mechanical engineering skills, alongside in-house training.
Upon successful completion of the 3-year training post you will be eligible for
more senior roles and enter a pathway toward the professional register for
clinical technologists (RCT). There may be an opportunity to join the
department permanently at the end of your training but in any case, your
new-found skills as a clinical technologist will be in high demand as there is
a national shortage of trained staff.
Salary will be paid at agenda for change band 3, with a
starting salary of £24,937 per annum, based on 37.5 hours per week. The
salary rises to £26,598 in year 3, based on 2025/26 salary scales.
Closing date for applications is 27/07/2025
Candidates shortlisted must be available in person all
day for interview on Monday 11th August 2025. We cannot offer
virtual interviews for this post. These will take place at the Royal Devon and
Exeter Hospital, Wonford, Exeter in the Medical Physics department, Exeter
Oncology Centre.

meet the entry requirements for the college course. This currently requires a
minimum 4 x GCSE’s L4/C-grade including Maths, Science and English. Alternative
qualifications may be accepted, subject to the admissions process.
