Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with strong potential for extension) Hours: Monday to Friday (school hours)
About the Role: We’re excited to be recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant on behalf of a friendly and welcoming primary school right in the heart of Workington. This vibrant school has a strong community ethos and is known for its nurturing, inclusive environment.
From September, the school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years classroom, supporting a lively and curious group of young learners aged 3–5. You’ll be working alongside an experienced class teacher to create a safe, engaging, and inspiring space where every child feels valued and encouraged to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the learning, development, and well-being of Early Years pupils
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver a creative and nurturing curriculum
Foster positive relationships with children and parents alike
Promote a happy, inclusive atmosphere where children feel safe, supported, and ready to explore
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations and assessment
What We’re Looking For:
A qualified Teaching Assistant with recent experience in an Early Years setting (Level 2 or above)
A calm, caring, and positive approach to supporting young children
Enthusiastic, reliable, and able to work collaboratively within a team
Passionate about early childhood education and helping young learners flourish
Someone who brings creativity, energy, and a warm smile to the classroom each day
