What skills and experience we're looking for
SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Qualified teacher status or a graduate in a relevant subject eg sports coaching.
2. Evidence of being a good to outstanding PE teacher.
3. To ensure the Principles of a Rights Respecting School are upheld.
4. To have a positive, enthusiastic attitude to all aspects of work, promoting the schools’ ethos and policies.
5. The ability to work as part of a team, and to establish and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and other professionals.
6. Evidence of good professional relationships with pupils, parents and other stakeholders e.g. governors.
7. Knowledge and understanding of the PE curriculum, recent issues and research and a willingness to learn new skills.
8. The ability to judge when to make independent decisions, when to consult with others and when to defer to the head-teacher or other senior manager.
9. Ability to prioritise appropriately, work calmly under pressure, meet deadlines and generally manage time well.
10. Evidence of a commitment towards the development of links with parents.
11. Evidence of being flexible and responsive to change.
12. Evidence of being proactive and able to use own initiative.
13. To have a good level of ICT competence including Microsoft Office (word/excel/outlook/publisher/PowerPoint).
14. To have a high level of written and oral skills, including presentation skills.
15. To have a good attendance record.
16. To be committed trustworthy and hard working.
17. A commitment to the Local Authority and school’s policy on equal opportunities and inclusion.
18. To have a commitment to and understanding of the school’s child protection policies, prevent and safeguarding procedures.
