Summary
Senior Clinical Fellow - Fixed Term
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellowin Cardiology.The role will involve participation in the GIM on call middle grade rota.Successful candidates will be working with other middle grade staff to provide first line of support for foundation doctors and take the lead in the care of the seriously ill patients; see and treat all categories of patients in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine.
1. Reception/diagnosis/treatment of new patients
2. Assist the Consultant on the ward.
3. Independent ward rounds once a week
4. Provide support to junior doctors.
5. Assist in teaching junior members of staff in the department
6. Act as team leader in the reception/diagnosis/treatment of seriously ill patients in the absence of the Consultant.
7. Maintain a satisfactory standard of education as determined at the yearly performance review/ Mandatory training a Trust appraisals
8. Provide prospective cover for colleagues’ absence
9. Participation in departmental teaching.
10. Participate in 1 in 13 General Medical (GIM) On Call for Registrar Level.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. A new Urgent Emergency Care Centre was opened in March 2023. The two-storey development has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity and has provided almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
