KEY RESULT AREAS: 1. Clinical Service Delivery: Accountable for advising on appropriate clinical management of women in the screening programme using extensive specialist clinical knowledge, skills and advice ensuring management is in line with CSW policies and procedures. Works closely with CSW Nurse Leads and professional leads, including sample takers and Colposcopy services to continuously improve services. Proactively identifying and using all opportunities to maximise benefits of integrated leadership in service improvement. Is committed to ensure service user experience is positive, services are responsive and accessible. Ensuring all clinical aspects in public information is service user-centred, accessible and relevant, using evidence to improve information where available Communicates effectively with all staff and external service providers recognising the need for good information during periods of change. At all times, positively supporting the Trusts vision and objectives, and making this real through strong commitment to results. To provide professional expert clinical advice and guidance to project teams, Head of Programme, PHW legal teams and other clinical professionals based on own specialist skills, knowledge and experience 2. Performance Management To undertake Quality Assurance visits/assessments. This will involve the post holder visiting health board sites as part of the team to perform quality assurance visits, undertaking audits of practice, writing reports detailing the findings and making recommendations for service improvement, and feedback these findings to relevant staff Prepare accurate performance reports for Lead Colposcopists/service managers To ensure that all clinical risk is managed within the relevant frameworks. To develop, implement and maintain systems, processes and practice in clinical risk management, including the management of Health and Safety. 3. Service Improvement Adopt the Prudent Health Principals to develop a service that is women/patient focused, inclusive, accessible and responsive to local need. Develop services and teams that put service users at the centre e.g. striving to reduce waiting times. Contribute to the development and implementation of optimal models of service delivery striving for continuous improvement in the quality of service delivery. 4. Governance Systems and Processes Help develop, implement and manage systems and processes for effective clinical governance across Wales Actively promote good practice, and ensure that all practice is delivered in accordance Cervical Screening Wales, Standard Operating Policies and Procedures (SOPPs), BSCCP, or other guidance on good practice. Use clinical expertise/clinical and professional guidance to develop practice and patient pathways as part of CSW policy and procedures and quality manual To lead the CSW Audit of Cervical Cancers (CSWACC) including undertaking colposcopy reviews and disclosure of results to patients Work with HoP, and other senior colleagues to ensure programme audit and evaluation takes place as required and that staff are involved routinely. To ensure that all aspects of Safeguarding are adhered to and that policies and procedures are followed at all times. Act as a patient/staff advocate through the application of ethical, legal and professional knowledge and skills. Actively promote good practice and ensure that all service planning/public information planning takes account of welsh language and other accessible requirements of the population we serve. 5. Education, Training and Supervision Contribute to the development of training programmes for primary and secondary care staff Maintain clinical competence and use highly specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience to ensure appropriate programmes of care and treatment, in addition to engagement with appraisal process and revalidation Undertake all statutory and mandatory training required by the organisation Provide training/education to CSW team 6. Staff leadership and management To contribute to appraisal and job planning for Lead Nurses as required, ensuring nurses meet the requirements for revalidation and annual and quarterly targets are achieved. To communicate effectively with staff and ensure a communication system that provides dynamic feedback, making best use of internal processes (e.g. Team Brief, Open Fora, Complaints, Whistle blowing etc.) and seeking out and providing feedback from frontline staff. 7.
