We are looking for a personal assistant to help a young 7-year-old non-verbal boy during the summer holidays. He has Autism, ADHD and a Learning Disability.
We need someone who is happy to support him to socialise more in his local community, get out and about and take part in activities he is interested in. Our client is fit and healthy and there is no requirement for any personal care.
Ideally, we would like someone who is physically fit and is able to support his Mum to keep him safe and ensure he doesn’t abscond when he is out and about in the community. He likes to visit play parks and children’s play areas and would love to be able to access new soft play areas with your support, when he gets the chance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting Mum to visit local activity parks
Accessing Soft play areas
Supporting to attend occasional medical appointments
Occasionally you might be asked to support Mum to attend appointments with him.
There will be access to a mobility car and so a driving licence would be desirable but not essential.
Applicants must have a caring and patient attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience within this area would be of benefit.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
We would ask that you write a small paragraph about yourself which will allow the family to gain a better idea of why you would like to have this post.
We are looking for a start date of 3/7/25, but this date is negotiable.
To apply for this post please submit a copy of your CV quoting the job reference number above by email recruitment@sdsoptionsfife.org.uk or by post to SDS Options (Fife), DPHS Fife, Caledonia House, Pentland Park, Saltire Centre, Glenrothes, Fife, KY6 2AL
Please Note: SDS Options Fife is advertising this vacancy on behalf of our client and are not the employer and cannot endorse any applicant and/or employer.
