Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver a high-quality, enjoyable dining experience that supports the wellbeing of our residents and meets agreed budgets.
Prepare daily meals for residents and cater for special occasions and events (e.g. birthdays).
Design and implement tailored menus that consider all dietary needs, including allergies, texture-modified diets, and cultural preferences.
Maintain exceptional standards of food quality and presentation.
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
Maintain and oversee kitchen cleaning schedules and rotas to ensure cleanliness and hygiene are upheld in all areas.
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring faults or maintenance issues are promptly reported.
Accurately maintain temperature logs and other relevant food safety records.
Recruit, train, supervise, and develop kitchen staff to ensure best practices are followed consistently.
Organise staff rotas and ensure adequate coverage during sickness or holidays.
Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and place orders efficiently to avoid waste and ensure availability of supplies.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

Culinary Qualification: City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or (or equivalent SVQ/NVQ) (achieved or currently working towards).
Food Hygiene Certificate: Basic Food Hygiene Certification is required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a care sector kitchen setting.
Strong leadership and team management skills with prior supervisory experience.
Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and collaboration with the Home Manager.
