We are seeking a dedicated Project Worker to join our team at our male-only domestic abuse refuge, one of the few of its kind in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to work in a growing area of domestic abuse support, providing vital, trauma-informed care to men fleeing abuse. Where does the role fit in?

Cedar House is a specialist service that provides refuge accommodation to males fleeing domestic abuse/violence. Cedar House works with outside organisations to facilitate a positive move on into independent living and re-settling into the community. This is an exciting opportunity as no two days are the same and you would be part of a team that is fundamental in providing high quality support to all the people we support.

As a Project Worker you will lead each shift by managing the scheme and overseeing the Scheme Support Officers.

Your day will consist of:

Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Writing and following an individual safety and support plan with the individual you are supporting
Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
Liaising with external agencies
Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
Building community links and establishing partnerships that benefit our customers

Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, and Challenging behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental and manage disputes or conflicts appropriately.

What are the pay and benefits?

Full-Time, 37hrs, Permanent position
Competitive salary of £26,072.00
Our service is 9-5 Monday – Friday
Qualified IDVA (Independent domestic violence advisor) preferred or willing to take on the qualification
It is essential for the successful candidate to have a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
An enhanced DBS check is required for the role, which we will pay for
26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
