Crynodeb

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Student Life team. The Senior Work-based Education Officer plays a vital role in the delivery of our higher and degree apprenticeship portfolio. Apprenticeships are at the heart of University of Staffordshire's commitment to skills growth and social mobility. As Senior Work-Based Education Officer you will be the operational lead for a portfolio of higher and degree apprenticeship programmes. You will coordinate delivery, quality and compliance activity, liaising daily with academic teams, employers and national regulators to make sure every apprentice receives an outstanding learning experience and the University meets (and exceeds) all Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and Ofsted requirements.

You will need to be highly organised and self motivated and have the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Main responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day running of the apprenticeship portfolio, acting as first point of contact for work-stream leads and academic staff.
Lead on programme delivery against key performance indicators, ensuring policies, quality standards and process-management systems are followed.
Develop and maintain coordination plans with stakeholders (including ESFA and Ofsted), assessing risk and keeping accurate programme records.
Monitor delivery against milestones, producing regular progress reports and making sure tripartite reviews are completed on schedule.
Oversee funding draw-down and distribution to guarantee contractual compliance.
Convene quality and compliance review meetings and contribute to wider sustainability and strategic initiatives across the University.
What you’ll bring

Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience, plus an assessor/professional qualification in a relevant field is desired.
Proven record of coordinating apprenticeship projects in HE or industry, with demonstrable experience of planning, monitoring and risk management.
Confident working with data, KPIs and digital systems to drive continuous improvement.
Excellent relationship-building skills and the credibility to work with external stakeholders as well as colleagues at every level.
