A position has arisen to join our workshop team,
UK Loco Ltd are based in Cropthorne, in between Pershore and Evesham. Candidates ideally would be within a 20m radius and must be able to reliably commute to Heath Park on the B4084.
UK Loco Ltd is a small to medium company and is involved in the manufacture of themed attraction, large permanent props and show mechanical equipment for the theme park industry and we are looking for a fabricator/welder to join our team.
Works will include (but is not limited to) the manufacture of a range of steel and aluminium fabrications. Primarily working with MIG on steel structures and tubular steel assemblies which are to be fabricated to BSEN 1090 Exc. 2 & 3 standards.
Ability in MIG welding is essential along with the ability to work unsupervised.
Welder Approval Qualification to Company procedures will be required following probation period.
There will also be some fitting and assembly works involved.
Candidates should,
• Ideally have 5 years’ experience in a welding/fabrication role or have completed an apprenticeship or holds a recognised welding / fabrication qualification e.g City & Guilds, BTEC .
• Hold or has held welder approval test certification an advantage but not necessary as training to Company procedures will be offered
• Have experience, preferably in the steel fabrication sector or service/maintenance industry.
• Use good workshop practices.
• Be experienced in metal cutting, guillotine and press-brake, saws.
• Be able to work from drawings.
• TIG welding is an advantage but not essential.
Preferred Additional Experience
Bench assembly
• Manual Handling techniques.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures relevant to engineering activities.
• Able to work on own initiative and exhibit characteristics of strong self discipline.
• Working with varied materials, steel and aluminium.
• Able to work with others in order to develop aims of the business, flexible and able to adapt to working in a demanding environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position with immediate start available. This will be subject to a 12 week probation period.
Standard hours: 39 per week
