Summary

Functional Performance and Insights Specialist within the Modernisation and Functions Team plays a key role in supporting DWP’s modernisation agenda. The role focuses on stakeholder engagement across DWP, embedding cross-government functional standards and driving continuous improvement through data and insight. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, adept at stakeholder management, data-driven decision-making, and navigating ambiguity with initiative and strategic thinking.

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Stakeholder engagement with colleagues across the whole of DWP, including Heads of Functions and cross-functional working group to support collaboration and drive continuous improvement.
  • Supporting our functional reform work to embed standards across the department. Each function has its’ own cross-government functional standard. Our role is to bring consistency and assurance to this agenda.
  • Leading on GovS001 functional standard and identifying opportunities to improve performance and manage functions more effectively.
  • Supporting the wider team with data requirements, including to measure progress against Civil Service reform.
  • Supporting the strategic direction and coordination of activity for our diverse network of over 700 Reform Champions by keeping them engaged, gathering insight and managing opportunities for them to contribute to DWP’s reform activity.
