Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE)

About Seashell Trust

Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The trust consists of the Royal School Manchester (RSM), Royal College Manchester (RCM), 17 residential homes (children & young adults), outreach, health and family services all based on one campus site. We provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment, communication disorders and autism.

A specialist staff team of approx. 700 people form ‘Team Seashell’ and include speech and language therapists, audiologists, physiotherapists, teachers, swimming instructors and residential care workers who all educate, care and support the children and young adults in our care.

We are excited to be recruiting a Lead Nurse to join our Nursing team. You will be leading a team that comprises of school and college nurses, a mental health nurse, clinical nurse trainers and nursing assistants. Working closely alongside our Registered Manager for Health, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of nursing and mental health services across Seashell, maintaining our CQC registration and our Outstanding rating to ensure that the nursing service delivers the best possible care.

The successful applicant must meet the following requirements:

· Registered Nurse (RNLD, RNMH, RGA, RNC)

· Extensive experience of working with children and young adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, mental health, complex health needs

· Experience in managing a high performing nursing team

· Knowledge and experience of safeguarding theory and practice

· Skills and knowledge of working with children, and young adults with a learning disability and/or autism and their family/carer networks

· Knowledge of CQC and NMC requirements in the delivery of a community nursing service

· Enhanced interpersonal skills to facilitate clear communication and strong collaborative working practises with colleagues internally across education, health and care services and with external health providers.
