JOB DESCRIPTION

Part-Time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 73 year old woman living in the Efail Isaf area with my husband. I am a fit and active woman who enjoys doing all sorts of different craft activities, gardening, walking and anything to do with nature. I am also a very social person who is very polite and enjoys to have good conversations.

I especially enjoy craft activities and would like to be able to do this more often and even have items around the house that I have made/painted myself.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I am looking for a PA to provide me with stimulation and to enable me to take part in activities I enjoy, whether at home or out in the community. The PA will also provide my husband with respite as he is my main carer.

RATE(S) OF PAY

£13.50 per hour plus 40p per mile where applicable.

HOURS OF WORK

6 hours per week available which will be used on flexible days but mainly in the mornings/afternoons.
I currently cannot do Monday morning or Thursday morning but flexible around this.

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

Taking me out into the community to take part in activities that will provide me with stimulation.
Providing me with good company and engaging in conversation with me.
Using initiative to think of new things we can do or new places we can visit.
House sits when not going out but still ensuring these sessions provide stimulation and undertaking an activity.
Supervising me and ensuring I am safe at all times.
Support with ensuring I am clean after going to the toilet.
Changing me in case of any accidents, these are infrequent but the PA needs to be comfortable to do this just in case.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

A car driver with business class insurance.
An outgoing and social person.
A caring person who has an interest in care work.
A proactive person who will not rely on being asked to do things.
A non-smoker.

ABOUT THE JOB

This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.

All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.

Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.

Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.

Please note: Dewis Centre for Independent Living is acting on behalf of a third party and will not serve as your employer or be liable for any issues arising from your employment should you be offered the position.
