We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Harvest Supervisor to join Agrial Fresh Farms in Colchester. You'll be a key member of our dedicated farming team supplying the freshest salad leaves to market! You will have experience of agriculture and harvesting, ideally in outdoor wholehead crops, and you understand the full process required from start to finish. You'll have experience in supervising members of staff across various backgrounds and can lead and motivate a team to success.
Pay: £Competitive based on experience
Working hours: Scales based on season. Mon-Fri during November-March and Mon-Sat during April-October
Main Responsibilities
Day to day supervision of the harvesting teams. Report any staffing, quality or quantity issues to the Harvest Manager.
To ensure that the harvest teams are working within company guide lines and all hygiene and dress code rules in the field are being adhered to.
To ensure all Health & Safety is adhered to as a matter of principle in line with all company policies.
Crop walking and attention to detail of all outdoor crops for quality and availabilities, assisting the Harvest Manager on a day to day basis.
Check that all weekly and monthly start up sheets and record sheets are complete and up to date, along with the daily Tractor and Rig maintenance sheets as well as daily cleaning sheets.
Achieve good control of productivity for the day to day field harvest operations, attempt to keep yields as close to budget or better if possible.
Skills and Experience Required
Good understanding of Outdoor Wholehead Crops.
Previous harvesting and operational skills across any product harvests.
Experience of leading teams, ideally up to 20-30 people at once.
Desirably multi-lingual, though not required.
